Bill Ponsford, the prolific opener from
Australia opener holds the record for having
passed 400 twice along with
Brian Lara in First
Class Cricket. Ponsford made 429 for Victoria Vs
Tasmania at Melbourne in 1922-23, and bettered
that with 437 for Victoria Vs Queensland, also
at Melbourne, in 1927-28. Lara, of course scored
400 against England at Antigua and also scored
501* against Durham.

John Traicos, the
pencil-slim off spinner holds the record for
having played Cricket for 2 countries but was
born in neither of them. John Traicos was born
in Egypt and he played Cricket for S Africa and
Zimbabwe.

Geoff Allot (New
Zealand) holds the record for the longest duck
in the history of Test Cricket. He survived for
101 minutes 77 balls against South Africa at
Auckland in 1998-99.

Ashok Gandotra,
a left-hand batsman who won two Test caps for
India holds the record for being the only
Cricketer to have taken birth in Brazil.
