Vaughan returns;
Freddie still unfit |
May 24, 2007
Michael
Vaughan has finally made it to the
English Test Squad. He will be leading
the side in the 2nd Test at Headingley.
Vaughan has been out of the test side
because of various injuries. He has just
recently recovered from a finger injury
that kept him out of action since the
World Cup. But England will still
Freddie Flintoff, who has failed a
fitness test because of an injured
ankle. Left arm medium pacer, Ryan
Sidebottom makes his comeback.
Sidebottom had featured in just the one
test match and two ODIs for England in
the past.
Owais Shah has been dropped to make way
for Michael Vaughan. Opening bowler
Matthew Hoggard, who was injured during
the West Indian first innings in the
Lord's Test has been ruled out. His
place has been taken by James Anderson.
The first Test at Lord's was drawn.
