Michael Vaughan
makes an impressive comeback to competitive
cricket |
May 31, 2006
England's long term Captain
Michael Vaughan
has hit back competitive cricket with a bang
scoring a match winning half century for
Yorkshire in the C&G Trophy match against
Scotland. The 31-year-old has not played a
competitive game ever since he had undergone
surgery on his troublesome right knee in
December 2005. Vaughan had subsequently missed
the India tour and is now missing the Sri Lanka
Test Series. He is keeping his knee to the test
and wants to see how it takes the stress of
playing a few four-day games for his county.
It's only after this stage that Michael Vaughan
is going to plan for a possible England return
and at the moment it looks clear that he wants
enough time to get to 100%. Vaughan can make a
comeback for one of the five ODIs against Sri
Lanka that starts from 17th June or he might
take some more time and aim for the 1st Test
match against Pakistan which is from the 13th of
July.
