Yuvraj to miss
India's first game due to viral fever |
September 11, 2006
The
Indian team has received a jolt just before the
start of the Tri-Series DLF Cup in Kuala Lumpur.
Yuvraj Singh hasn't traveled with the team after
being advised by his Doctors to take rest after
suffering from viral fever. Yuvraj will be
landing in Kuala Lumpur on the 14th which is the
same day when India takes on West Indies in the
second game of the tournament. Yuvraj's absence
will present Dinesh Mongia an opportunity to
figure in the playing eleven. Mongia wasn't
included in the eleven that had played a 22-ball
match in the abandoned Sri Lankan Series in
August. The opening game of the DLF Cup is
tomorrow with Australia taking on West Indies.
All the matches are day night affairs played at
the Kinrara Oval. Each team takes on the other
twice with the Final to be played on the 24th.
The weather hasn't been good for the cricket to
get underway following heavy rains in the last
few days but the ground authorities say that the
Kinrara Oval can be ready for International
Cricket within just 30 minutes after a heavy
downpour.
