Ponting loses all
his match fees for showing dissent |
September 13, 2006
Australian
Skipper Ricky Ponting has been fined by Match
Referee Chris Broad for showing dissent on the
field over an umpiring decision. In the
first
match of the ongoing DLF Cup, Ricky Ponting
was seen as walking up to Asad Rauf to ask him
about his decision to give a wide to a Nathan
Bracken delivery in the 33rd over. Ricky Ponting
has been charged a level 1.3 breach of the ICC
Code of conduct. However since he was involved
in a similar offence in April against Bangladesh
in the second Test at Chittagong, his punishment
has been raised to a level 2 offence which means
that he will be losing 100% of his match fees.
