Bell and Jon Lewis included; Pietersen misses
out |
England named a 12 men Test Squad to face
minnows Bangladesh for the 1st of the 2 Tests
starting next Thursday at Lord's. Warwickshire's
Ian Bell, a 23 years old right handed opener got
the break just ahead of Robert Key and the
dashing Kevin Pietersen. Ian Bell had played 1
Test Match back in 2004 against West Indies at
The Oval. Bell scored 70 in the only innings he
played but couldn't keep his place for the
subsequent series against South Africa. Ian Bell
has also played 8 ODIs and has 2 half centuries
to his credit. He is also a useful medium pacer.
Gloucestershire' medium pacer, Jon Lewis (29
years old) also got a break in the squad ahead
of James Anderson. England have gone in with
five pacers and one spinner in Ashley Giles.
Left hander Graham Thorpe is just 2 Tests short
of making it in 100 Tests in his long Test
Career.
The Squad :
Michael Vaughan (Captain), Marcus
Trescothick, Andrew Strauss, Graham Thorpe, Ian
Bell, Andrew Flintoff, Geraint Jones (Wicket
Keeper), Ashley Giles, Matthew Hoggard, Steve
