Oct
1, 2005
Sachin
Tendulkar who has been out of cricket because of
his tennis elbow and its surgery would be making
his comeback in the Challenger Trophy starting
from the 10th of this month. The batting maestro
has been picked for the India Seniors led by
Sourav Ganguly. The Selectors have picked all
the regular ODI players in the India Seniors
Side unlike distributing everyone equally in the
three teams as it was the case previously. The
India A side is going to be led by V.V.S.Laxman
and the India B side is going to be led by
southpaw Dinesh Mongia. Ashish Nehra and Anil
Kumble are reported to be rested from this
tournament. Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid
would be on duty for World XI in the Super
Series. The Challenger Trophy would be played at
the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium at Mohali.
Tamil Nadu all rounder Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan
is a notable inclusion in the seniors side which
otherwise has all the regulars. Punjab's
promising quick bowler Vikram Singh finds a spot
in the 'A' side. India U19 players like Manoj
Tiwari, Piyush Chawla also get an opportunity to
play with the big boys.
