JP called in for
the injured VRV; Sehwag to lead India |
Nov

Raw
Punjab fast bowler VRV Singh (Vikram Singh)
failed a fitness test for his injured left ankle
and has been ruled out by the physio
John Gloster
for the One Day Series against Sri Lanka. All
rounder Jai Prakash Yadav who was dropped along
with
Y.Venugopal Rao a couple of days from
the squad has been called back into the side.
India have decided to keep Rahul Dravid out of
this Rajkot game and Virender Sehwag who had
stood in for Dravid at Ahmedabad will lead the
side tomorrow. Mohammad Kaif who has come out of
injury would be taking Rahul Dravid's slot in
the batting. Rahul Dravid had hit an unbeaten
century at Ahmedabad and had struggled with
cramps during his last part of his knock. Dravid
didn't take the field and substituted himself
with J.P.Yadav leaving the captaincy affair to
his deputy Virender Sehwag. Medium pacer Sree
Santh who has had a mixed performance so far has
also been rested. It would be interesting in
what opening combination India goes with
believing that Sachin Tendulkar might get back
into tomorrow's match. The 6th ODI between India
and Sri Lanka begins at 9:00 A.M. I.S.T at the
Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Ground, Rajkot.
