Dinesh Karthik is
now a married man! |

 India's
new Test Opener Dinesh Karthik has skipped the
Kolkata Conditioning Camp for the Indian team to
get married. Just 21 years of age, Dinesh
Karthik has become a married man as he tied the
nuptial knot to family friend Nikita Vanjara
yesterday.
Dinesh Karthik and Nikita Vanjara have known
each other since their childhood which was spent
in Kuwait. The father of Dinesh Karthik, Mr.
Krishna Kumar and Mr. Deepak, father of the
bride are believed to be best friends for a long
time. This is an arranged marriage according to
Dinesh Karthik's parents. Karthik was a part of
the World Cup Squad but couldn't get a game. The
Tamil Nadu wicket keeper batsman has played 11
Tests and 13 ODIs till date ever since he made
his debut in 2004. He will be turning 22 on the
1st of next month.
 Karthik's
marriage was held in a private manner in a
Mumbai based hotel which was attended by only
the relatives of both the sides. None of the
Indian Cricket Team Members could attend the
marriage because of their commitment in Kolkata.
Despite the presence of a highly talented
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik has still
found a place in the Indian team largely because
of his attitude and temperament. He has now
found the new role of playing as a Test Match
opener, a job which he had done successfully in
South Africa. With Virender Sehwag dropped from
the Test team, Karthik will be opening the
batting with Wasim Jaffer.
