Test |
Feb 22, 2006
Yuvraj
Singh has been ruled out of the 1st Test due to
a hamstring injury. The dashing left hander had
got injured in the hamstring while batting at
Karachi in the 5th ODI on February 19. Yuvraj
continued to bat along with a runner in Gautam
Gambhir to see India win the match and also the
series 4-1. The left hander has recently climbed
upto the 9th spot in the ICC Cricket Ratings.
Yuvraj has been the Man of the Series for the
ODI Series against South Africa and recently the
ODI Series against Pakistan. With Yuvraj Singh
out of contention, Sourav Ganguly's place in the
middle order looks secured. Meanwhile Virender
Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh are fit and have been
cleared to play in the Nagpur Test that begins
on the 1st of March. The Indian Team for the 1st
Test is to be announced tomorrow.
