Hostile Makhaya

Justin
Langer playing his
100th Test
Match at Johannesburg had a hostile welcome
to his special achievement as Makhaya Ntini
bowling the 1st over of the Australian innings
bowled a nasty bouncer in the very first ball
which hit Langer on his head. That bouncer from
Ntini kicked off the pitch and hit Justin Langer
on the back of his head, the batsman had taken
his eyes off the ball. The left hander was
bleeding from the head as he got cut near his
right ear and was in a state of concussion
(temporary loss of consciousness caused by a
blow to the head). The Australian physio Alex
Kontouri and Shaun Tait helped Langer out of the
ground and he was later hospitalized for
observation. Langer received two stitches near
his ear for the cut. Justin Langer would be
assessed by the Doctors before getting the all
clear to resume his innings on Day 3 with
Australia facing a first innings deficit.
