Glenn McGrath to
play his last Test at Sydney! |
December 24, 2006
Glenn
McGrath has ended all speculations relating to
his retirement and like Shane Warne, he will be
playing his last test match in Sydney, his home
ground. McGrath’s final match for Australia will
be in the 2007 World Cup in West Indies.
Australia will be losing two of their best
bowlers in their cricketing history on the last
day of the Sydney Test. Glenn McGrath has taken
555 Test Scalps to date while Shane Warne is
certain to end up with more than 700 wickets.
McGrath’s international career had started in
1993 at Perth against New Zealand. His career
will end up with 124 Test Matches in 13 years in
which he has dominated most batting line ups in
the world. Nicknamed as the Pigeon, McGrath has
remained as the best fast bowler in the world
for quite sometime; he has taken 29 five-wicket
hauls along with 3 10-wicket hauls. The batsmen
all around the world, in particular the opening
batsmen would be breathing a lot easier knowing
that they wouldn’t have to face a pigeon with a
new ball!
