ESPN-Star to show
Afro-Asian Cup |
May 31, 2007
The second Afro-Asian Cup to be held in
India has been saved from being
cancelled. Nimbus which holds the rights
for telecasting the events has pulled
out from its agreement with the Asia
Cricket Council. No reasons have been
told by Nimbus for the pull out but what
is good news for cricket lovers is that
the tournament will be covered by ESPN
Star Sports. Nimbus decision is mostly
because of the withdrawal of several
star players from the Asian team
including Sachin Tendulkar.
The second Afro-Asian Cup will be
consisting of three official One Dayers
along with a Twenty20 International. The
first ODI is on the 6th at Bangalore
while the second and third are on the
9th and 10th at Chennai. The Asian Squad
is led by Mahela Jayawardene and the
African team is led by Graeme Smith.
